Allan Clayton and Christine Rice begin Wigmore Hall’s Benjamin Britten anniversary commemorations with a performance of song cycles from the 1940s. The program features Britten's Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo and A Charm of Lullabies. The second half includes Robert Schumann’s settings of poems by Heinrich Heine and Britten’s four Cabaret Songs set to verse by W.H. Auden.
