Former LA Phil Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall with a program of rhythmic wonders. The evening features Prokofiev’s Fifth Symphony, a work described by Dudamel as a lyrical and powerful celebration of natural beauty and grandeur. The program also includes Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements, a rhythmically intense and exhilarating work marked by punchy chords. Opening the night is a new work by Zosha Di Castri, a composer known for her riotously inventive musical creations.
