A danceable, uplifting traditional music night.
Herbert-von-Karajan-Straße 1, Berlin
At the invitation of the Berlin Philharmonic, the ensemble Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino brings the traditional sounds of Southern Italy to Berlin. Specialized in the "pizzica tarantata" ritual dance from Apulia, the group has been performing for over 50 years, blending traditional and contemporary sounds with high-energy dance. The performance centers on the Tarantella, a musical form historically used to treat tarantula bites through ecstatic, trance-like dancing.
