The Los Angeles Philharmonic presents a powerful program featuring Mahler’s First Symphony, famously known as "Titan." This gargantuan symphony is celebrated for its audacious exploration of life's triumphs and tragedies, filled with nature-inspired motifs and explosive crescendos. Conducted by Anna Handler, a former Dudamel Fellow known for her vigorous and infectious style, the performance also features the renowned pianist Emanuel Ax. Ax will perform a piano concerto by film score legend John Williams, a work specifically written for him that blends velvety textures with ghosts of jazz history, echoing the styles of Art Tatum, Bill Evans, and Oscar Peterson.
