A nostalgic, slow-burn british choir night.
The Sixteen presents a sumptuous programme of Renaissance masterworks framed by Antoine Brumel’s mighty ‘Earthquake’ Mass, Et ecce terrae motus. Scored for 12 voices with rich chordal harmonies, the performance also features stirring pieces by some of Europe’s greatest sacred composers, including Lassus’s Aurora lucis rutilat for 10 voices and the dark, evocative sonorities of Josquin’s motet Praeter rerum seriem.
