Julie Benko is a singer, songwriter, actress, and playwright living in New York City. She is currently appearing on Broadway as Emma Goldman in Lincoln Center's hit revival of "Ragtime." Her New Orleans-inspired album "Euphonic Gumbo" will be released on Club44 Records this February. Benko skyrocketed to fame in Funny Girl’s recent Broadway revival, inspiring theater lovers everywhere with her unbelievable understudy-to-star trajectory. For her performance as Fanny Brice, she was named the 2022 NYTimes Breakout Star for Theatre, one of Variety’s 10 to Watch on Broadway in 2023, and received Theatre World’s Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in Theatre. Julie’s 2023 holiday EP Christmas With You was dubbed as "delightful" by Variety, with her single "Man With the Bag" featured on Spotify's holiday playlist for that year. Her 2022 release Hand in Hand (Club44 Records), a duo effort with her pianist-composer husband Jason Yeager, won the BroadwayWorld Award for Best Commercial album and was nominated for a MAC Award for Best Major Album. Her debut album, Introducing Julie Benko, was self-released in 2017. Benko appears on the original Broadway cast album of Barry Manilow's "Harmony," the off-Broadway cast album of "Goldstein," and as Zelda Fitzgerald in the forthcoming off-Broadway musical, "The Fitzgerald's of St. Paul."
