Founded by Brazilian vocalist and guitarist Noelle dos Anjos (ex-Cobra Spell, ex-AlkoholikA) and drummer Murilo Frade, NUNGARA, meaning "equal" in Tupi-Guarani, was born in the heart of Berlin during the summer of 2019. Felix Patzig joined as bassist from 2021 to 2024, and in 2025, Artur Cipriani (Amuro, ex-Human Abyss, ex-No One Spoke) stepped in as the band’s live bassist. NUNGARA weaves together mystery, darkness and sheer power to create an thrilling experience. Ethereal female vocals soar in striking contrast to aggressive growls, while heavy, groovy metal riffs provide a powerful backbone. The band delves into urgent themes, exploring the human condition, personal struggles, stoic philosophy, and pressing global issues like environmental crisis. NUNGARA's words ignite contemplation and inspire change. In January 2020, NUNGARA released their self-produced debut single, "Sumauma". a track that brought attention to the devastating fires consuming the Amazon Rainforest. In September 2023, NUNGARA independently debuted with their four-track EP "Reflections in Stillness". NUNGARA invites you to join them on a journey through both darkness and enlightenment.
