Monika
A polished art pop artist.
Monika Christodoulou began as an internet sensation from her hometown of Athens, Greece. Her debut album Avatar (2008) went platinum, and her follow-up Exit (2010) confirmed her as one of Greece’s leading artists. After this success, she moved to New York City to record Secret in the Dark (2015) at Dunham Studios. Respected for her distinctive sound and songwriting, Monika expanded into Europe, signing with PIAS France and later joining Songs Publishing (US). Two extensive tours across the US and Europe — and her acclaimed Tiny Desk Concert on NPR — introduced her to global audiences. In 2019, she released her first Greek-language album O Kipos Einai Anthiros and voiced “Honeymaren” in Disney’s Frozen 2. Her 2020 single Saving the World honored frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, with proceeds supporting low-income medical staff worldwide. In 2021, she composed Kallimarmaro, the Olympic theme for Athens’ Panathenaic Stadium ceremony, and later that year wrote music for The Lost Daughter, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, featuring her acclaimed song Stala. After releasing Proud in 2023, Monika relocated to Los Angeles in 2025, continuing to create music for film and her own evolving international projects.
