Berima Amo, a Ghanaian-born, Amsterdam-based musician, has emerged as a leading figure in the resurgence of Highlife music from West Africa. As a trumpet player, composer, bandleader, producer, and arranger, he celebrates unity, joy, and life through a captivating fusion of ancestral dance rhythms, jazz, and soul. Recognized as West Africa's ambassador for its rich Afrobeat and Highlife traditions, Berima Amo spearheads the "Neo-Highlife" sound, captivating global audiences. His songs weave engaging African village stories and tales learned from his grandfather, the village chief, while embodying Akan tribal history, proverbs, folklore, and storytelling.
