Robohands
An underground indie jazz artist.
‘Robohands' is the experimental solo/collaborative project of London based composer/ instrumentalist Andy Baxter. Originally a side project to explore drumming techniques, ‘Robohands’ evolved into a more composition based endeavor with his records often featuring large arrangements along with solo instrument performances. Having recorded five studio albums to date, ‘Oranj’ (2026) is the sixth in a series of seven Robohands LPs. Having supported Grammy Award winning musician Terrence Blanchard at the Camden Jazz Cafe, his project has also headlined multiple venues in London, Brighton and Lisbon and more recently a slot at the Montreal Jazz Festival in July 2024. Sonically making reference to late 1950s sounds through to late 1980s and early 1990s sounds, each album has differed in direction, with the latest album being a tribute to classic analog recording equipment and the invention of electric instruments. Fresh off of the release of collaborative EP R.F.I (with Jack Barone), Baxter takes on drums, guitar, bass, keys for the latest LP (along with long time collaborator Francesca Uberti on Rhodes piano), which comprises of fourteen tracks, and releases on 16th January 2026.
