Underground Canopy
Paris, France based Jazz/Hip Hop band Underground Canopy has revealed as a prominent new face on the vibrant independent French jazz/hip-hop/groove scene. The group officially formed in 2016 after several years of countless jams and covers of the likes of Flying Lotus, Madlib and J Dilla. Original band members Jonathan Aréna (Keys), Warren Dongué (Bass), Jeremy Talon (Guitar / Synths) and Necky Gomis (Trumpet), met in Paris and immediately connected over their shared passion for hip-hop, grooves and instrumental music. Joined in 2020 by Christopher J. (Guitar) then by Bastien Bonnefont (Drums), the UC approach to composition, transforms the vibe of hip-hop into handcrafted jazz fusion pieces, taking the listener on a journey into a world of original live music.
