Born in Barakaldo, Spain in 1978, she studied directing at the ECAM film school in Madrid. Since 2007, she has combined a career in directing commercials with more personal work in short films which have to date screened in over 400 Spanish and international festivals and won more than 100 awards. Cinco lobitos is her debut feature film.
Alauda Ruiz de Azúa is a prominent Spanish filmmaker and ECAM graduate recognized for her intimate, character-focused storytelling in both feature films and television.
She is best known for her Goya-winning debut feature Lullaby (Cinco lobitos), the series Querer, and her work on the romantic comedy Love at First Kiss.
She studied directing at the Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid (ECAM) after initially earning a degree in English Philology.
