Began working as an assistant camera operator, assistant director, and editor at the St. Petersburg (Leningrad) Studio for Documentary Films. From 1986-1988, he studied at the Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Directors. Winner of more than a hundred prizes at Russian and international festivals.
