buster keaton lives in the ultimate quirky bachelor pad, has pigs and ducks hanging out right outside his door, shakes hands with a rabid dog, gets married while driving a motorcycle; this guy is the comedian ubermensch, i have so much admiration for him.
The first six minutes aren’t so much funny as they are one of the most staggeringly inventive sequences I’ve ever seen in a movie. Jaw on the floor, tempted to give a standing ovation watching this thing at home all by myself. The next 11 minutes are merely extremely funny.
I think this is the only comedy I’ve seen where the majority of the jokes come from the production design. Buster rules.
