for all of usoh 😭😭😭 what moved me most of all was the deep care between all the characters, and that this was so intentional about being a love letter to Black queer people, which explicitly extended beyond the characters in the film! they said yes you 🫵🥲this was so joyful and i’m such a big fan of films that speak to grief and trauma without being traumatic. and finally a poly relationship that’s not there as a source of conflict!not all of it worked for me but i feel those parts will grow on me esp if i watch it in a more relaxed environment - watching this with a majority white audience was super uncomfortable in places and i just know seeing this with cuties will hit different. very layered, already excited to revisit it.also i met isaac julien in the audience afterwards and got to tell him i love young soul rebels, so 🥹
