Born in Karabakh, Rəhman initially played the accordion before teaching himself guitar and joining the Karabakh Ensemble. Over his long career, he has developed a unique way of making the instrument 'sing,' mimicking the vocal intricacies of traditional singers. Recently, his work has reached global audiences through a compilation released by Bongo Joe Records in 2024.
