An underground, nostalgic jazz night.
Joel Forrester is a highly versatile jazz pianist and prolific composer, with more than 1600 tunes to his name. Known for leading his own quintet and co-leading the Microscopic Septet, he is also the creator of the theme for NPR's Fresh Air. His musical style seamlessly blends elements of stride, boogie-woogie, bebop, and trance, resulting in a unique sound he describes as “salon pieces.” For this performance, Forrester continues his residency through the month of August.
