Established in 1985, BOLD was founded by four teenagers and originally known as Crippled Youth. They quickly became a central force in the mid-80s hardcore scene with their EP 'Join The Fight'. Alongside Youth of Today, the band played a crucial role in defining the sound and aesthetics of the Youth Crew hardcore movement. Following their name change to BOLD, they released the influential LP 'Speak Out' on Revelation Records. Their evolution continued with their self-titled 1989 release, which featured more technical elements that paved the way for 90s hardcore and post-hardcore genres.
