A pivotal moment came at 18 when he discovered Detroit techno pioneers like Derrick May and Carl Craig, inspiring him to swap his saxophone for a drum machine. Since his debut EP "O Fantasma" in 2010, Laolu has crafted a signature sound that is sophisticated, efficient, and unmistakably distinct. His remix of Dele Sosimi's "Too Much Information" on Innervisions became a #1 hit and a favorite of industry giants Dixon and Âme. With releases on esteemed labels including Defected, Compost Records, Anjunadeep, Keinemusik, and FFRR, Laolu's sets effortlessly combine ruff techno with heart-warming house, igniting dancefloors worldwide.
