Portrait d'orchestre at Paris Philharmonic
A slow-burn classical night.
In this original creation for the Philharmonie, Beethoven's Third Symphony, the "Eroica," is transformed into a living portrait of the orchestra itself. Director Aurélien Bory uses an ingenious video and staging system to project the faces of individual instrumentalists in real-time. By highlighting the personal relationship each musician has with the music—defined by dedication, sacrifice, and passion—the performance moves beyond the image of a monolithic ensemble to reveal the individual human elements that create the orchestral whole.
