A danceable, nostalgic afro house night.
Yaw Atta-Owusu, a Ghanaian artist known as Ata Kak, self-published the Afro-house and rap album Obaa Sima in 1994 with a tiny cassette run. After years of obscurity, his music was rediscovered by Brian Shimkovitz of Awesome Tapes From Africa, who eventually located the artist in Canada. Now back in the spotlight, Ata Kak brings his unique blend of dance and highlife-influenced rap to the stage.
