New Orleans natives Eyehategod have been prominent figures in the Southern metal scene since the mid-90s. Formed in 1988, the band helped define the NOLA sound with their 1992 debut album, In The Name of Suffering. Despite various hiatuses and periods of silence over the years, the group has continued to release influential records like Take As Needed For Pain and Dopesick. Known for their sludge and doom metal influences, Eyehategod remains a staple of the heavy metal festival circuit and a key representative of the New Orleans underground music legacy.
