Formed in 1980 in Salford, Greater Manchester, the original lineup included Shaun Ryder, Paul Ryder, Mark Day, Paul Davis, and Gary Whelan, later joined by Bez and Rowetta. The band skillfully blends alternative rock, funk, acid house, and dance music, creating a festive and innovative sound that defined a generation. Known for their dancing rhythms, groovy basslines, and rebellious attitude, they are a cult group of the British scene, particularly remembered for landmark albums like Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches.
