An underground, slow-burn classical piano night.
Lara Downes is a devoted champion of classical music by women composers and Black Americans, and an equally unequivocal advocate for the cause of democracy and freedom. Her programme stems from her Pentatone release Love at Last, a collection of works spanning generations, continents, and cultures. The performance is united by a stubborn belief in humanity, peace, compassion, and the power of love, inspired by a poem by Odessa-born poet Shaul Tchernichovsky. Part of the Pentatone 25th Anniversary Festival.
