Doka Live x Paradiso w/ BOWL
Bowl is a post-punk band from Utrecht that blends gritty garage rock and disorienting post-punk with influences from new wave and art rock. The band was formed in 2022 after an inspiring night in the basement of Vera in Groningen, during a concert by the French band Unschooling. Since then, the five-piece has carved out a place in the Dutch underground scene. With their debut album Sweet Caffeine, Bowl laid the foundation for their signature style: urgent, socially engaged lyrics tackling themes like toxic masculinity and a dying planet, wrapped in chaotic yet danceable melodies. The album was praised by 3voor12 as “sometimes furious, sometimes despairing, but always with the determination to keep fighting for a better world.” In 2025, they expand their artistic vision with The Rude Interruption of Fear, a concept album centered on the mental struggles of frontman Vos Ploeg. Entirely self-recorded and produced, the album serves as a deeply personal document on intrusive thoughts and insecurity. The first part, released in August 2024, offered an intense glimpse into the chaos. The second part, set for release on April 25, 2025, reflects on how Vos continues his life after the storm has passed.
