The Kyiv Biennial is a nomadic international project interweaving artistic, political, and social issues. Its chapter in Berlin, titled "A Bird That Cannot Land," features an extensive program of live music, discursive events, and a large-scale exhibition. Centered on the concept of "Middle-East-Europe," the biennial explores histories of conflict, colonialism, and imperialism while highlighting diasporic communities in dialogue with translocal artistic practices. KW’s main hall hosts a week of concerts and performances exploring music’s emotional power across diverse sonic practices and vocal traditions, approaching polyphony as both an aesthetic and social practice of resilience.
