African American Jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator Kazemde George performs live in a trio setting featuring bassist Tyrone Allen II and drummer Kayvon Gordon. Based in Brooklyn and raised in California, Kazemde's music is deeply informed by his study of the African Diaspora, blending Hip-Hop influences from producers like J Dilla and Madlib with traditional Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. A Harvard/New England Conservatory joint program alumnus, George released his debut album 'I Insist' in 2021 and has collaborated with major artists such as Solange Knowles, Jason Moran, and Norah Jones. This performance highlights his scientific approach to understanding lost cultural histories through improvised music.
