An underground, raw expressionism night.
At the heart of the Old Testament, the Book of Lamentations has profoundly inspired composers across history. In this performance, Catalan composer Joan Magrané Figuera dialogues with his predecessors. Having studied in Barcelona, Graz, and Paris, Magrané Figuera blends avant-garde techniques with a deep passion for early music. Alongside the Chœur de chambre Les Éléments and the Ensemble intercontemporain, he explores the Leçons de Ténèbres, a pinnacle of liturgical music, where the poems of Jacint Verdaguer meet the Lamentations of Jeremiah.
