A nostalgic, slow-burn classical night.
Tenor Robin Tritschler and pianist Malcolm Martineau present a tribute concert for Peter Pears, marking 40 years since his passing. The program features Geoffrey Bush’s Songs of the Zodiac, composed in memory of the legendary English tenor, alongside Richard Rodney Bennett’s Tom O’Bedlam’s Song, a piece originally written for Pears and cellist Joan Dickson. The performance also includes Benjamin Britten’s Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo, which received its world premiere at Wigmore Hall by Pears and Britten in 1942.
