We Are Scientists is een Amerikaanse indierockband, opgericht in 2000 in Californië en momenteel gevestigd in New York. De band staat vooral bekend om het kernduo Keith Murray en Chris Cain, met een wisselende bezetting van drummers en andere leden. Hun geluid is beïnvloed door de postpunk en synthpop uit de jaren tachtig. In 2005 brachten ze hun debuutalbum ‘With Love and Squalor’ uit, waarmee ze doorbraken en uitverkochte shows in het Verenigd Koninkrijk speelden. In de jaren daarna ontwikkelden ze hun indierock-geluid verder met albums als ‘TV en Francais’ en ‘Helter Seltzer’. Anno 2026 is We Are Scientists nog steeds actief. Ze brachten hun negende studioalbum ‘Qualifying Miles’ uit en vieren tevens het 20-jarig jubileum van ‘With Love and Squalor’, dat ze integraal spelen naast nieuw materiaal.
