Enter the spellbinding soundworld of Balladeste, the genre-defying duo comprising violinist Preetha Narayanan and cellist Tara Franks. Over a decade, they have developed a unique musical language that blends contemporary classical, Indian classical, and baroque influences with folk traditions. Described as Indo-Baroque meets alt-folk minimalism, their music offers a contemplative mix of melody and texture that feels both ancient and modern. Their original compositions, often called songs without words, are inspired by a wide range of influences including Hildegard of Bingen, Philip Glass, and the Silk Road Ensemble.
