Scattered Waves with kimmah & BuruN ĐăngA
Scattered Waves is a project run by Kimmah that showcases southeast asian electronic music worldwide. Kimmah: Favouring higher tempos, Kimmah delivers an energy explosion that gets the sweat dripping down from the ceiling. With regular excursions into dark, funky, and fast electro, breaks, bass, and acid, she matches the grit and sleaze with plenty of bump and grind, for a full body dancefloor workout. With her residencies at Poing Club and Operator Radio in Rotterdam, she showcases Asian electronic music and artists from across the globe in her monthly radio show called Scattered Waves. She often pays tribute to her heritage by teasing in sounds from the burgeoning scenes right across Vietnam. BuruN ĐăngA: Đăng-Vũ Đặng is a Dutch born Vietnamese multi-disciplinary artist based in Amsterdam, the city that has greatly influenced his musical journey for the past two decades: from the hip hop dance scene in his teens to the music and club scene in the latter half of his life. Privately organized deep listening sessions would spark his interest in digging for music with the potential to open the mind and body to transcendental states; a never-ending and ever-evolving quest that organically led him to mix behind the decks as BuruN ĐăngA, a name that refers to the hypnotic compound extracted from the highly psychoactive plant Datura Stramonium, whose distinct flowers are known as angel’s- and devil’s trumpets; flowers hinting towards his selections: from heavenly ethereal ambient to deep, dark, trippy, hypnotic dance and trance inducing music.
