An underground classical night.
Will Duerden, who began playing double bass at the age of seven, returns to Wigmore Hall alongside duo partner Svitlana Kosenko. The programme explores the many facets of the double bass, ranging from the impassioned lyricism of Robert Schumann’s Adagio to the jaw-dropping virtuosity of Bottesini’s Fantasia, based on themes from Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. This beguiling selection of works showcases the technical and expressive depth of the instrument.
