Evgeny Kissin, a piano sensation since the ’80s and an expert in Romantic-era classics, returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for a performance dedicated to Beethoven. The program features the Diabelli Variations, a work celebrated for its mysterious and humorous range, alongside early and late piano sonatas. Kissin pairs the fiery Sonata No. 1 with the experimental No. 13, highlighting Beethoven's lifelong pursuit of moving beyond established musical traditions. This recital is part of the Colburn Celebrity series and is supported by the Colburn Foundation.
