A queer, nostalgic contemporary classical night.
A live performance that brings archival recordings to life, transforming queer stories and narratives of migration into an immersive auditory experience. Part of the Long Night of Museums, this sound exhibition by artist Netta Weiser at the Humboldt Forum is complemented by a performance by flutist Roy Amotz. The project revives an archive of 1930s Egyptian recordings by Jewish-German composer Birgitte Schiffer. Developed for the unique acoustic environment of the Humboldt Forum's listening room, archival traces are transformed into a choreography of sound and diasporic memory. Historic recordings enter into dialogue with contemporary musical interpretations, inviting the audience to engage with stories of exile and complex identities.
