TOKiMONSTA - ADE

TOKiMONSTA, aka Jennifer Lee, has been making a name for herself as a producer in the electronic music scene since the early 2010s. Growing up in the vibrant L.A. beat scene, she developed a sound that veers between hip-hop, house, soul, and experimental. Her albums, including Midnight Menu, Lune Rouge, and Oasis Nocturno, have received attention from Pitchfork, BBC, and NPR, among others, and earned her a GRAMMY nomination. In addition to her solo work, she runs the label Young Art Records, on which she collaborates with artists such as Anderson .Paak, Rochelle Jordan, and Cakes da Killa. Her live sets are energetic and rhythmically layered, with plenty of room for color and detail. After a period of illness and recovery, TOKiMONSTA found a new balance between technique and intuition. The music that results is rhythmically open and personal at the same time — always with a keen ear for what’s happening outside the lines. Paradiso is one of Amsterdam's most well-known concert venues, with a large stage overlooked by two balconies and large glass church windows.
