A nostalgic, homegrown madchester night.
The influential sounds of English bands Joy Division and New Order were defined by the distinctive basslines of Peter Hook. During the late '70s, Hook's dark and rhythmic bass helped Joy Division create a unique atmosphere of profound melancholy. While Ian Curtis is often recognized for the band's lyrical depth, Hook's sinister and throbbing instrumentation provided the essential drive for many of their songs. His approach to the instrument emphasized rhythm and melody during the punk era, going on to inspire a whole generation of dance-focused new wave musicians.
