With Yiannis Stankoglou in the role of narrator and the acclaimed artists Yiannis Kotsiras , Lena Kitsopoulou , Rena Morfi , Imam Baildi and Anatoli Margiola on stage, the long-awaited narrative concert Vasilis Tsitsanis forever , on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of the most important creator of Greek folk music, is coming on February 10 and 11. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of Vasilis Tsitsanis, a special narrative concert with important performers and actors on stage will bring to life the work and era of the leading Greek creator at the Pallas Theatre, for two nights only. Composer, lyricist, bouzouki virtuoso and singer, Vasilis Tsitsanis was the most important of the creators of Greek folk music and folk song of the 20th century. This artistic event, which comes on February 10 and 11, magically unites music with storytelling, creating images that will transport viewers to another, unique era. A journey through the timeless songs of Vasilis Tsitsanis that have never ceased to move listeners from different generations. Narrative elements will connect the past with the present in a magical & dreamy evening full of joy, dedicated to a great Greek, to the man who changed Greek folk song forever. With the directorial approach of Giorgos Papageorgiou and texts written especially for this evening by Giorgos Skampardonis. Vasilis Tsitsanis' greatest hits are performed in classic performances and arrangements by renowned artists, including Yannis Kotsiras, Lena Kitsopoulou, Rena Morfi, Imam Baildi and Anatoli Margiola. The narrator of the evening will be Yannis Stankoglou. Together with the Vasilis Tsitsanis Orchestra under the direction of Manolis Pappos, they will weave old and new sounds, creating a unique result that will connect the past with the present. A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE VASILIS TSITSANIS ORCHESTRA The Vasilis Tsitsanis Orchestra was founded on the initiative of his family and Seed Point, Vasilis Tsitsanis' music publisher, with the main purpose of presenting live the work of this unique creator. An Orchestra for the composer, lyricist, bouzouki virtuoso and singer Vasilis Tsitsanis who took music from the margins and grafted it with his talent, inspiration, creativity and hard work, creating the folk song that managed to enter the souls of all Greeks. By uniting the East with the West, tradition with modernity, he managed to quietly but essentially unite all Greeks, achieving something that even today is not easy to understand. Tsitsanis' deep need to communicate and be inspired by the world was met by his appearance on the stages every night for 45 years and until the end of his life, always having a great orchestra by his side. This Orchestra comes to serve this great love of Vasilis Tsitsanis for the correct presentation of his songs. The Orchestra, under the guidance of Manolis Pappos, a master of the bouzouki as well as a deep connoisseur of Tsitsanis' work and flanked by talented musicians, will present his work, as he himself defined it, with his many years of presence on the stages and in recordings. Furthermore, he will attempt what Tsitsanis himself would have done if he were alive, to collaborate with enlightened musicians/composers so that his songs are presented in a new, different way, reintroducing us to this unique, brilliant and generous Greek.
