World News and Pink Breath of Heaven Live at Neue Zukunft Berlin
With an eclectic set of influences from the 70s and 80s dipping into post-punk, indie-rock and shoegaze alike, World News combines addictive atmospheric guitar riffs with seductive, nonchalant melodies. Moody, punchy, and nostalgic, they have drawn comparisons to iconic British bands from The Smiths and The Clash to Dire Straits, wearing the past on their sleeve while remaining perfectly original yet strangely familiar. 2024 saw a continued upward trajectory for the band with the release of two standout EPs, Escape and Mindsnap, their debut appearance in the US at The New Colossus Festival in New York City, and features in Stereogums 40 Best New Artists of 2024 and The Faders 13 Artists to Watch for 2025. Contributions to 2025 include the singles Don’t Want to Know and Everything Is Coming Up Roses, which set the tone for their 2026 debut LP, alongside a string of summer festival dates and continued sell-out shows across the UK. San Francisco duo Pink Breath of Heaven — Liv Field and Rex John Shelverton — weave shoegaze haze, psychedelic color, and haunting melodies into a sound both warmly familiar and strikingly new. Their debut album Colors Make a Sound and breakout single Blue Is the Morning cemented them as a standout voice in modern psych/shoegaze. Having performed alongside The Dandy Warhols, LSD and the Search for God, Alisons Halo, and Ulrika Spacek, they arrive in Berlin as one of the most exciting acts in the West Coast psych underground.
