Fire! Orchestra

Great improvisation and energy by this orchestra with strings, horns, rhythm section and electronics, led by Swedish saxophonist Mats Gustafsson (The Thing). Free jazz, contemporary classical music, noise, free improvised music, ethnic music, folk music, hardcore, jazz, electronica, minimalist and maximalist music; everything is inherent in the organism we call Fire!Orchestra. Their latest project ECHOES is a work of epic proportions. Full of beauty, energy, obsessive passages and an incomparable musicianship. After 13 years and at least six different incarnations 2025 sees a new version of the band, playing WORDS. The music is all new, but some of the fundamentals stay the same: a steady groove and conduction by Mats Gustafsson. On these basics every concert is different, with ever changing groupings of players. Brutal heaviness, furiously fast crack, intense groove, extreme dynamics, immense beauty.
