De IJslandse pianiste en componiste Eydís Evensen behoort tot de meest originele stemmen binnen de neoklassiek en ambient. Haar muziek ademt de rauwe natuur van haar geboorteland en weerspiegelt een brede waaier aan invloeden, van Tsjaikovski en andere romantische componisten tot minimalisten als Philip Glass en hedendaagse artiesten zoals Thom Yorke.
