Nel Ponsaers and Rahmat Emonds are vocalists in THE SWOON, SKC's energetic backing band that released the album _Be(e) Who You want to Be(e) in 2024._ With this formation, SKC surprised audiences and press with rousing, funky live shows full of groove and color. While the band is working on new material, SKC also remains true to its love for the narrative listening song. For the project _THE POEM_, SKC brings new work and reworked songs from his rich repertoire, supplemented with pearls from the singer-songwriter's tradition, together with Nel and Rahmat. Their harmony vocals form the heart of the album, in which poetry, literature and music merge. The three voices: SKC's hoarse tenor, Nel's velvet alto and Rahmat's soulful soprano, complement each other and give each song its own perspective and emotion. Musically, SKC remains true to its fascination for instruments and sound. With guitars, basses, organs, analogue synths and inventive percussion, he creates a pure, adventurous sound that is intimate and rich in feeling at the same time. _THE POEM_ will be released on October 5, 2025 on Starman Records.
