On August 14, 2026, Red Events presents a performance of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in the atmospheric Bergsingelkerk in Rotterdam. This masterpiece of the Baroque era, written in the final weeks of the composer's life, will be performed by the acclaimed Belgian ensemble La Chapelle Sauvage under the direction of Karel De Wilde. The concert features soloists Abigail Barker (soprano) and Gleb Zakharov (countertenor). This unique performance aims to capture the authentic sound of the era with lower, warmer tuning in a church setting. The program includes the complete Stabat Mater followed by additional Baroque selections.
