A raw chamber music night.
The British Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective is a young ensemble that expresses an idealistic message of connection through chamber music. They believe that making music can inspire change by uniting performers and transporting listeners. Their programming bridges the classical canon with works by underrepresented composers. In this performance, they present Grażyna Bacewicz's Quartet for four violins, a piece noted for its folk music influences similar to Bartók. The program also features two masterpieces for octet: Felix Mendelssohn's famous Octet Op. 20 and George Enescu's lyrical and romantic Octet Op. 7.
