Jazz, contemporary works from art music and popular music, and other material blend together in the improvisation between the trumpet and piano of the Neuser–Wilhemi duo. Michael Wilhelmi is a pianist, composer, and mathematician who teaches at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. He works in concert, theater, and electronic contexts and performs at international festivals. Nikolaus Neuser, a trumpeter and composer from Berlin, has been moving between jazz and free improvisation for many years; he has released music internationally and performs regularly at festivals and concert venues worldwide.
