Yarrow Ballet Label Night: Schulverweis, Norherenorthere, g4y_fx

Yarrow Ballet is back at their favorite spot, Roodkapje, for another label night. This time they're joined by their friends from Berlin, Schulverweis, the side project of Levente Palenka and L.F.T., whose new album we’ve been absolutely loving. Also joining the lineup, their talented resident and close friend Norhernorthere, bringing a live set, and our dearest g4yfx will be on deck duty throughout the night. A Thursday night gathering from 20:00 to 23:30, just before midnight. For Fans Of: (Dark)Wave, Punk, Synthpop, Ambient, IDM and Electro Schulverweis Schulverweis make punk the way it should be: completely in the moment. Just like the very existence of the band. Because Schulverzeigen actually only came about because they had to share a studio in the overcrowded metropolis of Hamburg. The appropriate line of the song: "In the expensive café around the corner, latte macchiato - die. Drink my coffee black, like I deserve, no sugar for me, no sugar for me." The concept of the band, consisting of LFT and Levente: They record every song directly in a jam on a tape deck. And that's where it all comes together: dystopian synth pads, dusty drum patterns and endearingly banal guitar riffs. There's a colorful mix of storytelling, shouting and babbling. German, French, English, who cares. But with lots of punk, synth and humor! Norherenorthere Norherenorthere’s sonic explorations are haunted by the vast landscapes of her birthplace, such as Antarctica and the Andes, and the mythologies that inhabit them. Captivated by the unknown, her music evokes the allure of deep oceans, nonhuman beings, and other worlds that intersect with ours. As an intuitive producer, influenced by film, her thumping rhythms contrast with ethereal vocals and nostalgic synth lines, hovering us on the fringe of ambient, darkwave, and experimental electronica. Through a honed array of hardware, she lures us into and shepherds us through unfathomable, unmapped territories g4yfx Rooted in the dark corridors of post-punk and cold wave, to electro and techno, G4Yfx is always looking for unexpected turns and heated encounters, exploring genres as an ever-changing 90s mood ring.
