An underground nu jazz night.
A brand-new project from pivotal UK jazz imprint 22a collaborators Tenderlonious, Hamish Balfour, Pete Martin and Tim Carnegie aka N22. Fresh off the back of their sold-out performance of Herbie Hancock’s Thrust at Ronnie Scott’s, the quartet started working on new groove-focused material, drawing inspiration from legends like Weather Report, Joe Henderson, Roy Ayers and The Headhunters. Breaking away from the 60s hard-bop traditions of previous albums, N22 delivers a fresh repertoire of groove-heavy funk, lush Fender Rhodes, deep synth textures, and soaring woodwinds. This performance features collaborations with Hindustani classical innovators Jaubi and London jazz powerhouse Nick Walters.
