Wednesday + Bleary Eyed

Wednesday is a noisy indie rock band from Asheville, North Carolina, consisting of Karly Hartzman, MJ Lenderman, Xandy Chelmis, Alan Miller and Ethan Baechtold. The five-piece makes music that oscillates between 90s alternative rock, shoegaze and americana, with the occasional lap steel guitar for that signature country twang. Their new album 'Bleeds' will be released this fall, the successor to the acclaimed 'Rat Saw God' from 2023. The first single, 'Wound Up Here (By Holdin On)', is inspired by a story about a drowning in West Virginia, and contains a line from a poetry collection by a friend of Hartzman. It is an example of how literature, memories and music seamlessly merge at Wednesday.
