Claudia Acuña is a Latin GRAMMY-nominated bandleader, vocalist, and composer celebrated for blending South American folk music with Jazz and Global Music. Born in Chile and established in the New York jazz scene since 1995, she has collaborated with masters such as Herbie Hancock and Branford Marsalis. This event celebrates the release of her eighth album, Ave de Luz, which she describes as a love letter to her Chilean roots. Acuña is known for her emotionally incisive singing and unique ability to reimagine Latin American ballads and jazz standards through a South American lens. Her career includes performances at the Newport Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall, and she was the first Latin American vocalist signed by a major jazz label.
