A nostalgic, underground classical night.
Royal Festival Hall, 337-338 Belvedere Rd, London SE1 8XU, UK
When it came to emotion, the composers of the Romantic era never held back. Dvořák poured all his heartbreak and longing into a cello concerto like no other: a symphony in all but name, as sweet and as stormy as life itself. Meanwhile, Belgian master César Franck created a symphony that acts as a Gothic cathedral in sound, featuring a world of swirling mists and monumental visions. Guest conductor Marie Jacquot joins the London Philharmonic Orchestra and cellist Kian Soltani for these magnificent works.
